The Sunbelt Conference Sends Four Players to the NFL

Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Louisiana, and South Alabama will be represented with draft picks when training camp opens later this summer.
Here is the list of Sunbelt Conference players drafted into the NFL
CB Shemar Jean-Charles, Appalachian State: Walter Camp 1st Team All-American. His 16 pass breakups and 17 passes defended led the FBS, while also recording 37 tackles. Named to the All-Sunbelt Conference 1st Team. His Pro Day: 4.47 40-yard dash, 35-inch vertical jump, 19 reps at 225 LBS. He recorded a career 31 pass breakups with the Mountaineers.

DE Tarron Jackson, Coastal Carolina: 195 tackles, 26.5 sacks, 44 TFLs in 48 games with the Chanticleers. 1st Team Walter Camp All-American and 1st Team All-Sunbelt. The Sunbelt Conference Defensive Player of the Year. He is the 7th Coastal Carolina player to be drafted since 2007. 2020 stats: 54 tackles, 8.5 sacks, 14 TFLs, 3 forced fumbles.

RB Elijah Mitchell, Louisiana: 1st Team All-Sunbelt. In 2020, Mitchell rushed for 878 yards and 8 TDs. Averaged 6 yards per carry for the 10-1 Ragin Cajuns. Career: 3259 rushing yards, 41 rushing touchdowns. In high school, averaged nine yards per carry and a touchdown every nine carries.

WR Kawaan Baker, South Alabama: 2nd Team All-Sunbelt Conference. In 2020, made 51 catches, 659 yards, and 8 touchdowns. In the UL-Monroe game, he made 6 catches for 154 yards and 3 TDs. And against Tulane, Mitchell hauled in 7 receptions for 129 yards and a touchdown. Career: 1829 receiving yards, 16 receiving TDs, and 11 rushing TDs.
