The Ragin’ Cajuns and App. State To Square Off Tonight in Sunbelt Showdown

The Appalachian State Mountaineers and the University of Louisiana Ragin Cajuns will do battle tonight in Sunbelt Conference action from Cajun Field in Lafayette, La.
App. State is 4-0 and is 5th in the country (#1 in the Sunbelt) in scoring at 47 points per game. One of those wins was against ACC member North Carolina 34-31. In that game, they sacked UNC QB Sam Howell 3 times, intercepted him twice, and returned a fumble for a touchdown.
The Mountaineers rank in the top 3 nationally in 3rd down and 4th down conversions. They are led by QB Zac Thomas, who has passed for 802 yards, 7 TDs and 2 INTs, and RB Darrynton Evans, who averages 117 yards a game and has scored 9 TDs on the ground.
The Ragin’ Cajuns (4-1) are led by QB Levi Lewis, who has passed for 980 yards and 8 TDs with just 2 INTs. But he has been held under 200 yards passing over the last 4 games. The Ragin’ Cajuns average 44 points per game, good for #9 in the country. RB Elijah Mitchell (402 yards, 9 TDs) and RB Trey Ragas (548 yards, 6 TDs) lead the ground attack, which ranks #1 in the country in rushing offense.
Louisana gets after people on defense, ranking #2 nationally in tackles for loss with 15.
This game should be high scoring and will be fun to watch, but its also a critical game in conference for both teams.
