Chase, a 6-1, 195 junior from Metarie, La, was a 4-star prospect out of Archbishop Rummel High School. He caught 61 passes for 1011 yards and 13 TDs in 2017 and signed with LSU in early 2018.

As a freshman, Chase caught 23 passes for 313 yards and three touchdowns. Against UCF in the 2019 Fiesta Bowl, he caught 6 passes for 93 yards and a touchdown in the 40-32 win over UCF.

The Tigers were an offensive juggernaut, going 15-0 and defeating Clemson 42-25 in the national championship game. In that game, Chase made 9 catches for 221 yards and 2 TDs.
