Southern Miss Tops UTEP 31-13

QB Jack Abraham threw 3 touchdown passes and the Golden Eagles rolled up 520 yards of offense as Southern Miss beat the UTEP Miners 31-13 Saturday night in Hattiesburg.
Abraham connected on TD passes to 3 different receivers: RB De’Michael Harris scored on a 74-yard touchdown catch, WR Jaylond Adams scored on a 6 yard TD pass and WR Jordan Mitchell caught a 22 yards TD pass. Abraham finished with 351 yards and no interceptions.
Harris also added another TD on the ground and gained 62 yards on 11 carries. WR Quez Watkins caught 2 passes for 97 yards.
The Golden Eagle defense held the Miners scoreless in the 1st and 4th quarters, allowed only 2 field goals in the 1st half and racked up 4 sacks and 7 tackles for loss.
UTEP finished with just 294 total yards. Miners QB Kai Locksley accounted for 223 of those yards, passing for 109 yards and rushing for 114 yards. The Miners defense only managed 1 sack and 4 tackles for loss.
Southern Miss has a bye week next week and then take on North Texas on October 12th for Homecoming.
