Golden Eagles Rack Up 563 Yards, Beat North Texas 45-27

Southern Miss QB Jack Abraham passed for 421 yards and 3 TDs and no interceptions as the Golden Eagles beat North Texas 45-27 at the Rock in Hattiesburg.
The Golden Eagle offensive line allowed zero sacks as Abraham completed 80% of his passes and Southern Miss gained 563 yards of total offense.
RB De’Michael Harris rushed for 103 yards and 2 TDs on the ground, including a long run of 60 yards and caught 5 passes for 79 yards and a touchdown, the score coming on a 59-yard catch. WR Quez Watkins caught 8 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown.
The Golden Eagle defense held North Texas to a single touchdown in the second half and scoreless in the 3rd quarter. North Texas gained only 122 yards rushing and was kept out of the endzone. The Golden Eagles had only one sack, but DB Ky’el Hemby and DB Rachuan Mitchell each had an interception.
North Texas gained 378 total yards and QB Mason Fine was only 11 of 25 for 217 yards and 3 touchdown passes with one interception. WR Jaleon Darden had 5 catches for 87 yards and 3 TDs for the Mean Green.
The Mean Green defense recorded 8 tackles for loss.
Southern Miss improves to 4-2, 2-0 in conference play and will travel next week to take on 5-1, 2-0 Louisiana Tech. The winner of that game will be alone in first place in the C-USA West Division.
