Day 2 of the NFL Draft-Moving On to the Next Level
By: Tony Thomas On Day 2 of the NFL Draft, 10 players from the Group of Five conferences, FCS level, and even Division III got the call from NFL head coaches, GM’s, and team executives saying pack your bags-we will see you at training camp.
Here is a look at the players selected on Day 2 of the NFL Draft:
CB Aaron Robinson, UCF, 6-1, 193- N.Y. Giants
Robinson started 9 of 10 games in 2020. He was named 2nd team All-American Athletic Conference last season (the second time he was so honored in his career). His stats for 2020:
41 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 FF, 1 FR, 7 PBU’s (led team).
CB Richie Grant, UCF, 6-0, 194- Atlanta Falcons
A 2-star recruit in high school, Grant was a three-time All-AAC selection at UCF. He ran a 4.49 40-yard dash at his Pro Day. His career stats at UCF:
291 tackles, 10 INTs, 11,5 TFL’s.
In 2018, he recorded 109 tackles, 6 INTs, 3 TFL’s, 3 PBU’s, 3 FF.
WR D’Wayne Eskridge, Western Michigan, 5-9, 190- Seattle Seahawks
In 2020, Eskridge earned MAC Special Teams Player of the Year and first-team All-MAC at wide receiver and kick returner. Eskridge was named second-team All-American (all-purpose) by FWAA. Led the FBS in all-purpose yards per game (213.0) and averaged more than 200 all-purpose yards per contest.
DE Milton Williams, La. Tech, 6-3, 285-Philadelphia Eagles
Selected a 3rd Team All-American and 1st Team All-CUSA. His career stats:
106 tackles, 19 TFL’s, 10 sacks.
DE Malcolm Koonce, Buffalo, 6-3, 250- Las Vegas Raiders
An All-MAC selection for the 2nd time, Koonce registered 30 tackles, 6.5 TfL’s, and 5 sacks in 2020. His career stats:
110 tackles, 22 TFL’s, 18 sacks
DB Brandon Stephens, SMU, 6-1, 213- Baltimore Ravens
Stephens originally signed with UCLA as a running back. He played in 21 games for the Bruins. Transferred to SMU and switched to DB. In 2020, he recorded 43 tackles, 1 TFL, 10 PBU’s, and 1 INT. Made 92 career tackles for the Mustangs.
OT Brady Christensen, BYU, 6-5, 302- Carolina Panthers
Started 39 games for the Cougars and was named a Consensus All-American. He graded out at 96.0 by Pro Football Focus. Allowed only two QB pressures on 293 pass-blocking snaps. He played on an offensive line that allowed only 12 sacks all season, ranking 8th nationally. He ran a 4.89 40-yard dash at his Pro Day.
OG Quinn Meinerz, Wisconsin-Whitewater, 6-3, 320 Denver Broncos

Meinerz was selected a Div. III 1st Team All-American in 2019. His team did not play in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl and was a star. He ran a 4.89 40-yard dash at his Pro Day.
OT Spencer Brown, Northern Iowa, 6-8, 320- Buffalo Bills
Due to COVID-19, Northern Iowa did not play in the fall. He has 35-inch arms and bench pressed 500 pounds. Photo Credit: thegazette.com.
OT Dillion Radnuz, North Dakota State, 6-6, 300-Tennessee Titans
Radnuz was 2019 All-American and FCS Offensive Lineman of the Year.
Allowed zero sacks of QB Trey Lance in 16 games in 2019.
