Bishop Lynch Advances Past Concordia Lutheran
Bishop Lynch scored early as the Friars took care of Concordia Lutheran on Saturday and advances in the TAPPS playoffs. They racked up 393 yards of total offense, including 273 yards rushing, in a 30-7 victory.

Friars QB Austin Schnurr threw a TD pass to Jeremiah Williams early in the 1st quarter to start the scoring for Bishop Lynch. Schnurr was 5 of 7 passing for 70 yards (71% comp. pct).
That was followed up by a 27-yard touchdown run by Friars RB Isaiah Schmidtke to take an early 14-0 lead into halftime.
Concordia Lutheran’s lone touchdown didn’t come until the 7-minute mark of the 4th quarter.
The second half saw more scoring from Bishop Lynch. Henry Nyhart added a field goal and the defense added a touchdown when Webster Walls returned a fumble 45-yards for a scoop and score to take a 24-0 lead in a very active 3rd quarter for Bishop Lynch.
Schmidtke added another rushing touchdown to increase the lead to 30-0 a few seconds into the 4th quarter.
Concordia Lutheran’s lone touchdown didn’t come until about four minutes later, on a 13-yard run by RB Aiden Dominy to make it 30-7 and that was your final score.
Scmidtke finished with 130 yards and 2 TDs, averaging almost seven yards per rush.
The Friars’ defense came up big, forcing three turnovers and limiting the Crusaders to just 121 total yards.
But it wasn’t exactly perfect execution for the Friars. They racked up 12 penalties for 104 yards in the game.
The Friars improve to 5-6 on the season. Concordia Lutheran finishes the 2021 season at 4-7.
Bishop Lynch survives and advances to play next Saturday against a St. Thomas team that has gained over 4609 yards of offense and is averaging 460 yards of offense per game. The Eagles are led by senior QB Jake Wright, who has passed for 3326 yards, 38 touchdowns, and only 1 INT (in 277 pass attempts). Wright averages 332 yards passing per game.
